What is CBD?
Everyone knows what CBD is right?….not quite. There is still a lot of confusion around the subject – so here is some information 🙂
CBD comes from Hemp (which is actually different to Marijuana).
Both hemp and marijuana do come from the same plant species – Cannabis sativa – but vary in THC composition. THC, otherwise known as tetrahydrocannabinol, is the most infamous cannabinoid due to its high-inducing properties. CBD on the other hand does not get you high.
Hemp is specifically bred to have lower THC concentrations. Conversely, marijuana is grown to have high THC content. Only hemp-derived CBD oil is federally legal in the US because it is extracted from industrial hemp containing less than 0.3 percent THC. In Hong Kong in accordance with the law all CBD should have 0% THC.

What are the different ways to take CBD?
There are 3 main ways to take CBD. Based on your needs and preferences, you can apply CBD through different methods such as using oils, eating gummies, or using creams. Your choice of administration can affect how CBD works with your body.
1) Through tinctures/ oils
2) Edibles such as Gummies
3) Topicals (cream you rub on the skin)
What does CBD do?
CBD works by stimulating the endocannabinoid system – a biological structure common in all vertebrates. This system helps maintain homeostasis, the human body’s natural balance of physical and chemical systems when responding to various physiological conditions.
For example, if an outside force, such as excess stress, reasons for bad sleep, or pain from an injury throws off your body’s homeostasis, your ECS kicks in to help your body return to its ideal operation.
Within the endocannabinoid system, CBD molecules attach to CB2 cannabinoid receptors that are connected to the peripheral nervous system (PNS). The PNS includes various organs and systems, such as the immune system, muscles, skin, and limbs.
