October 2018 Run Information & Registration – Now Open!

The Women’s Five event is more than just a run. Our hope is that it will become an agent of change that will help you achieve your goals, whatever they may be. We strive to achieve this through our social messages, 5 week fitness program and our runners race packs/ sponsor bags.

5 Week Program Information:

 A comprehensive program to help build or maintain your fitness – During the 5 weeks we will be covering the following: Running, Yoga, HIIT, Meditation and Mindfulness. This will be done through a series of fitness meetups on the weekends and also online resources from the W5 team including – running programs, yoga and HIIT routine videos, meditation and mindfulness booklets.

*It is not mandatory to attend all the sessions – you can go to any you like. We have 12 meetups over the 5 weeks including the run! Our group meditation evening is limited to 35 people

Locations for meetups – Yoga/HIIT classes will be held in in Tamar Park and Sun Yat Sen Park. Running meetups will be held on Bowen Road and Tai Tam Country Park.

“Dedicate yourself to becoming your best”

Week 1- HIIT

-Tribe members (that’s you) will receive an email with a HIIT video fitness routine to follow for the week. Designed to keep you strong, and work on your overall fitness. Included also is a 5 week couch-to-5k running program for beginners and advanced runners to follow in thier own time between weekend meet-ups.

-Ambassadors corner: Our community ambassadors share their insights and tips into health, fitness and more.

-Training: During the weekend we will have 2 meet-ups – one HIIT class and one running training session.

Week 2 - Mindfulness Week

-For the Mindfulness week the W5 have created an online booklet to print out which covers: Intro to mindfulness, why it’s important, how to become more mindful in everyday life, specific examples and exercises to try as well as a daily empowerment journal section for the week.

-Ambassadors corner: Our community ambassadors share their insights and tips into health, fitness and more.

-Training: During the weekend we will have 2 meet-ups. One running training session and seeing as it’s mindfulness week we have extended our yoga class to include a mindfulness meditation practice.

Week 3 - Meditation Week

-Participants will get an email with an online booklet that covers: Intro to meditation, different types, benefits and misconceptions and more. We will then dive into 2 types of meditation: pranayama and visualisation, with specific examples and exercises for you to work on during the week. We have also partnered with Kit Lee from Sit Sat Meditation HK, who will provide 5 short audio meditations to listen to each day.

-Ambassadors corner: Our community ambassadors share their insights and tips into health fitness and more.

-Training: During the weekend we will have 3 meet-ups. One yoga class and one running training session. Because it’s meditation week we will also have an evening group meditation session held by Kit Lee from Sit Sat Meditation. *This night will be limited to 35 people – which aligns with expected numbers.

Week 4 - Movement & Strength + Course Recce

-Tribe members will get an email with an online workout video to help increase your mobility to follow throughout the week.

-Ambassadors corner: Our community ambassadors share their insights and tips into health fitness and more.

-Training: During the weekend we will have 2 meet-ups. One mobility and strength class and one running training session. The run session will be a ‘recce’ to get familiar with the course before race day. Participants will also be able to collect their race packs this week.

Week 5 - Race Week!

Race week! Time to wind down and get ready – we have 2 meet-ups this week to get you in the zone for race day; Monday and Tuesday evening yoga classes.

Also included in this week’s email will be all the race day information needed by participants
